Expanded Biblical Meditation -- Part 2

In the first post in this series of expanded Biblical meditation we read through a section of verses to meditate over and then drilled them down to one word or phrase.  This can be used for pretty much any verse or verses you choose, which is why it is so exciting to learn how to study and meditate over the Bible this way!  If you haven't read that first post, click the link up there and read through it, then pop back over to this one.

Bible Journal notes on HOPE

Every once in a while I just want to share what I'm learning and doing in my Bible journal.

For the last year I've been learning a lot about Biblical Meditation and trying to put it into practice as I've been slowly soaking in Psalm 119.  And, you guys, the results have been truly life changing.

Bible Journal pages: Gospel pages

I have come to the realization that I need to grow in my understanding of what, exactly, the gospel of Christ is.  I, like I'm sure most of you, can give a quick answer for what the gospel is, but do I really know it?  Do I really believe it?  Do I really understand it and make it a part of my life?  Not usually.

A peek inside Tammy's Bible Journal

I want to introduce you to Tammy who was kind enough to let us snoop inside her Bible journal.  I love Tammy's simple creativity and how she makes the study her own.  But she can tell you better than I.  Thanks for sharing with us Tammy!

I am 50 years old, divorced, and have two beautiful grown daughters.   I accepted Jesus as my savior at the age of 9 and was blessed with Godly parents.  In my younger years and into my teen years, I was in active in GMA’s (Girls Missionary Auxiliary) in our church.  We had a handbook with different levels and in each level we had to memorize verses and read biographies about people in the Bible.  When we passed that level we had a ceremony where we received recognition for what we had learned.  That was my first introduction to reading the Bible.

A peek inside Candice's Bible Journal

Today we get to see inside Candice's Bible journal!
I love taking a peek inside other people's journals and seeing what they are doing and learning!  Thanks, Candice.

How to Start a Bible Study Revolution and a GIVEAWAY!

We seem to have accidentally started a revolution of sorts and I'm not really sure how.  I didn't mean to create a "new and exciting" kind of thing because I'm not a "new and exciting" kind of person. (I wanted that in high school when it could have meant something!) My blog is not poetic. My posts are inconsistent. I rarely make any promises that following my advice will change your life (in just five steps!) On most days, I can’t even manage to keep my punctuation in place.

5 simple ways to add Bible into your Homeschool

Adding Bible study into homeschool is tricky because it's the most important subject we have, but it can very easily become the most dreaded subject too.

A walk through and video of Kelly's Bible journal

I was originally hesitant to try the Journal and Doodle studies because I feel I am not good at drawing.

A Peek Inside Rachel's Bible Journal

I just love it when people allow me to peek over their shoulders and see what they're learning through the Journal and Doodle Bible studies! I was able to interview Rachel and she graciously shared some of what God has been teaching her through her time journaling and doodling. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have. Thank you Rachel!

Before coming to Christ, I was a spiritually searching GOD-believer, just not a Jesus believer. I was happy most of the time and very much connected to God through nature. But I resisted Christianity.

A walk-through of Kelly's Bible Journal

Kelly was kind enough to film a walk through of her Bible Journal for us.  She is currently working through the free Ephesians Bible study that you can get by subscribing on the right.  I love Kelly's creativity and how she has made this study unique with her own special touches. Thank you Kelly!!

Simple Bible Meditation for Complete Beginners

"What value is there to reading one, three, or more chapters of Scripture only to find that after you've finished you can't recall a thing you've read?"
-Donald Whitney

For years I've read my Bible in many ways...  Chapter by chapter, reading a book 50 times, or reading from cover to cover, but I always struggled with forgetting what I'd read after I checked it off of my to-do list for the day.

6 Tips to Get More Out of Your Bible Journal

When I started my first Bible journal I struggled with what to write in it.  I made lists of facts but that was about it.  Things really started improving when I changed my approach and went back to a student's mindset and what I had learned about studying in High School and college.

Inside Debbie's Bible Journal

Today we get to sit down with Debbie and flip through her Bible Journal and see the works she did through the book of Acts.  In February I shared 28 days in Acts and Debbie hopped along for the ride creating her own pages! Love them!

A peek inside Carolyn's Bible Journal

Carolyn took some time to share her Bible journal and some of her pages from the Journal and Doodle Bible studies with us!  THANK YOU Carolyn! Love them!

Lisa's Bible Journal and Interview

Lisa was kind enough to take some pictures of her gorgeous Bible Journal and the work she's done with the Journal and Doodle Bible studies to share with us!  I love LOVE looking through other people's journals and seeing what God is teaching them!  I hope you enjoy your time with Lisa too!
I stumbled across Kari's bible journaling pages on Pinterest in the winter of 2013. I had been marking up my Bible fairly regularly, but I wanted to improve my study skills instead of relying on the notes and writings of others.

My Big Problem with Bible Study

Before I can get really into my big problem with Bible study, I have to first share a bit about where I've been...

I became a Christian in my early teens without any opportunity to really grow.  I went to a youth group event at a church I didn't attend or know anyone and met Jesus in a barn, sitting on a hay bale.  Soon after, I realized I had a horrible allergy to hay as my eyes puffed up and my throat began to constrict.  I looked like I had a hugely emotional experience all coughing and red and swollen... but in reality I was introduced to my Savior with awe, surprise and wonder, and severe allergies.

I'll just let you soak in all the 80's awesomeness
 that this picture is...

A peek inside Kimberly's Bible Journal

Kimberly was kind enough to answer all my interview questions, PLUS include pages from some of her work through the studies.  These journal pages are from the 1 Cornithians study Journal and Doodle study.

Interview and a peek inside Janna's Bible Journal

Janna was kind enough to share her Bible journal with us and some of her thoughts on the Journal and Doodle Ephesians study.  (If you haven't gotten your free study, be sure to subscribe on the side bar for an instant download!)

I love Janna's journal because of its clean simplicity and the deep meaning she's drawn out from the Word!
