Stone Soup for Five: Join me in February: prayer focus, book club, and challenge!

Join me in February: prayer focus, book club, and challenge!

February is an exciting month on the blog and we're going to focus on prayer in a few different ways!

February Focus: Prayer

  • February Challenge:  Put together your prayer binder (or update it if you have one!)
  • February Book Club:  The Hidden Life of Prayer by David MacIntyre
  • February Bonus: Prayer Binder printable pages

February Challenge

In the month of February we're going to focus on assembling (or updating) your Prayer Binder!  AND there will be bonuses!!

Each week I'll list the sections we'll be putting together and after you've completed that week's challenge I'll have a link for subscribers to download free printable pages to add to your prayer binder!

If you want to participate, all you have to do is click on the Resources tab above and gather your supplies, then follow along each week in February starting on the 5th!

TO DO:  No need to sign up, just visit the blog on February 5 for a post on my refreshed 2019 prayer binder and at the bottom of that post will be directions for you to put together your binder.  The printable pages available to subscribers will be posted that day also.  If you have already put your binder together, I will also include ideas for updating or adding to each section!  If you haven't subscribed yet, be sure to do that on the right side bar of the blog.

February Book Club

If you want to join along, I'm also going to be reading through the book The Hidden Life of Prayer by David McIntyre, a Scottish minister from 1859-1938.  You can get a copy in several different ways:

Purchase on Amazon (full and unabridged)
or on Kindle
or free abridged copy from Chapel Library (it ships via media mail, so takes a week or more, this is the version I'll be reading from).

TO DO:  If you want to join in, I'll be putting up a book club post once a week where we can discuss two chapters a week (in the Chapel Library edition, that is about 14 pages).  No need to sign up, just show up once a week and post your thoughts on the book or answer the discussion questions.  We will begin discussing the first two chapters starting February 9th.

I'd love to know if you'll be joining in on either (or both!), leave me a comment below!  You can also visit my Prayer Binder tab to see more details on my binder, and  I have a series of Prayer School posts that you can browse too!

On YouTube I have a few videos on prayer and prayer binders:

Prayer Binder Q&A flip through
Prayer Binder flip through with Dawne
Another (shorter) Q&A flip through
Prayer journal coffee chat

Let me know if you will be joining me!

  7. Count me in! I ordered The Hidden Life of Prayer several months ago from Chapel, and I just started reading it last week! This timing is perfect for me! Love how God surprises me in the details. Looking forward to the prayer binder, too. I have a Moleskine that I have divided into similar sections as your binder, so that is what I will be working with.

It is amazing how God works, I have been struggling with prayers and don't even use my prayer journal anymore. I am grateful for this challenge. 👐🏽

    Thanks, and God bless you.

  17. I'll be joining in on the prayer binder, but in the meantime, I have a question: do you have a separate War Binder, or is that the same thing as your prayer binder?

  26. I am so very excited to join you with the book club and the prayer binder as well. I am also doing the Journal and Doodle, Ephesians.....Thank you Kari for all you do! I do believe in the power of Prayer! It is my direct line to my Father GOD through HIS son JESUS. For many months the HOLY SPIRIT has put conviction in my heart to go deeper into prayer. Spend time in the Garden with HIM. To read my Bible with more hunger.....I Prayed to GOD for help in fulfilling this calling...HE let me find you, Kari. You are a blessing to me Thank you <3
