Early on there was one little sentence that she wrote that I had never thought of before:
"Count how many words there are in the verse--write it out that number of times, and you'll know it!"
Me, being my eternally optimistic self thought "ya, right." So I had to challenge it by doing it.
And you know what? It works!
Really.
I bought a cheap 5 subject spiral bound notebook,
(because I like THICK notebooks)
and wrote and wrote and wrote.
It's kind of a doodly thing to do. Which I love.
Plus it helps me work on my handwriting, which needs help.
And I can change up the style of my writing too, which keeps me entertained.
I usually have to draw a simple word picture to help me remember what reference is attached to which scripture.
I also try to write it once, really huge, on the page so I can easily see if I'm messing up when I'm rewriting it.

At the back of the notebook, behind the last divider, I test myself occasionally. I try to write out the verses from memory and then correct them. I just cover up the previously written ones with a paper or book.
I'm only a few weeks into it, but so far it's been enjoyable and it works.
What I think will be really cool, is filling up this entire spiral with scripture I've memorized. THAT is something to look forward to. Wouldn't that be amazing?
