Stone Soup for Five: {Bullet Journal Weekly Review} Weeks 50-51

{Bullet Journal Weekly Review} Weeks 50-51

I hope you guys all had a great Christmas, though it was different for all of us.  We had a quiet day at home with the boys watching movies and eating lots of food.

I tried a new brisket recipe from one of my favorite food guys on YouTube, Binging with Babish.  It was a two day process, but man, was it worth it!

I also didn't do much of anything else.  But I did get started on my annual re-reading of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

A friend asked me what WHB means on my Saturdays.  It stands for Weekly Home Blessing from FLYlady where you take about an hour to get some cleaning things done.  I do it on Saturday because then on Sunday the house is presentable and the toilets aren't gross and we can invite someone over or I can completely relax for the day knowing the big things are done.

Oh, and I have a reminder on this page to share with you guys a podcast I was on recently.  It's part of the Apologetics Ministry at our church, and I think it went pretty well.  Though I haven't had the guts to listen to it yet!  If you're interested, you can listen here:  https://theambassadorsforum.com/radio/ (scroll down to the Nov 28 show.  Try to forgive them for spelling my name wrong.)

I'm going to try that recipe for clam dip this week and I'll post a review because it's a gem from my mom's 1970's recipe box!

I scribbled out some thoughts on goals for 2021 and will probably revisit some goals from the previous few years that were never met and share what I came up with next week.  Along with my new 2021 Bullet Journal and my set up for January!

  1. I really appreciate your blog! Thank you for all of the hard work. I read that you read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe annually. Have you ever read the other Narnia books ? I hadn't, until this year. Reading the entire series made me love C.S. Lewis even more!

    1. I have read all but the last one! I love them all, but my favorite is a tie between book 1 (The Magician's Nephew) and book 2 (TLWW). Book one was such a fun ride. I read it aloud to my boys when they were younger and we all laughed out loud so many times and loved it. So it's HIGH up on my favorites list!

  2. ah, your pictures and your words are inspiring! Thank you! I've been bogged down with work this holiday season, but should be out from under it by next week. I hope to spend a bit of time just thinking about this next interval, my 2021 goals (I have a sketched out plan.. a brain dump). I just love FlyLady! My son has a "weekly chore" which takes him through a WHB for his and public areas each week. I need to work on covering my areas each week!

    1. That's awesome! I hope you get time to get a rough plan going for 2021. Great idea on your son's chores. When I'm doing FLYlady faithfully, I LOVE how my house looks and feels and the peace that I have knowing things are cared for and orderly. Love it!

  3. And I usually smoke our briskets. But I might have to try that one.... my briskets are much bigger, I always get a full brisket. I guess I've just got some good stew meat with the tail end!
