Stone Soup for Five: Looking for leather journals or a great gift idea?

Looking for leather journals or a great gift idea?

I was recently contacted by Sara of Jofelo journals who wanted me to give an honest review of her traveler's notebooks and leather bound journals.  I researched her site a bit before I told her I'd love to see what they were like, and she sent off two of her journal sets to me to try out.

Literally as soon as I opened the package up, my 15 year old son asked to have one.  He chose the Unwritten Journeys gift set that comes with a beautiful rosewood pen.  He was captivated with the quality and heaviness of the pen and the thick unlined ivory paper divided into 5 different unbound notebooks.  We both agreed that the look and feel of the leather was amazing and what a wonderful and affordable gift this would be for writers, artists, and those who love to journal!

The Dream catcher gift set is equally as amazing, and now belongs to my 19 year old son.  Both journals come in a quality gift box and are filled with five unlined unbound notebooks.  Both gift sets come with a heavy, high quality rosewood pen and have a sewn in leather pen holder.

Part of what makes these journals unique and authentic is they are not bound with the typical elastic strap of most traveler's notebook journals.  Instead, each unbound notebook is hole punched and threaded into the journal with a leather strap.  Though this makes them unique, it can be a bit tedious at first to change out the notebooks, but they have a handy tutorial video on their blog, and I'm sure after a few times it would be no big deal to change them out.  And they sell the refill paper on their website, giving you the option of lined or unlined paper.

The outside binding is really beautiful because of the leather straps and adds to the uniqueness of the journals.  And with the inner unbound notebooks at 30 high quality and thick pages, it makes a gift that will last through the years.

Right now both of my sons have the journals and my husband will be getting one for Christmas.  They are such a perfect size (the pages of the journals are 5x7) and the journal is just a touch bigger than that, and is the perfect size to hold in your hand or with your Bible.

They have a few other styles of journals too, you can see all of them here.  I absolutely love these journals!  They are not only affordable but they come so neatly packaged in a gorgeous box, they make a perfect and meaningful gift.

I hope you'll drop by and take a peek, they really are amazing journals!

  1. Those look nice. Does Stone Soup For Five regularly review and or promote items from people they don't know? Or, do you know this product and person well?

    1. I very rarely review and promote items from other people, especially companies I don't know, but after looking over their website, and knowing how much I and others who follow my blog love notebooks and journals, I took a chance and am glad I did. The quality of these journals are well worth the price and love sharing great finds and deals with my readers!

    2. Good to know. Thanks. They look like nice products. Take care.
