Stone Soup for Five: Couch to 5k--midway through. Really.

Couch to 5k--midway through. Really.

(this is me, plodding along, 10 min into the run, and Mr. Measure making it look so easy.)  :o)

I'm midway through the Couch to 5k method of learning to run.

At each week, I've thought "There is NO WAY I can go to the next week, this is KILLING me just to do this much!"

But each new week I promised myself to just TRY it.  I can always go repeat a week if it really is too much.

And like a great friend of mine said "You'll never know what you can or can't do unless you try it."

And I surprised myself.

Week 5 is a huge jump in intensity and endurance and today was the last day of week 5.

Which is a 20 min run.

With no walk breaks in between.

I went to bed thinking about it.
Woke up thinking about it.
And went out first thing before breakfast to try it.

To either fail, or succeed.

And I. DID. IT.

Slow, very slow,  but I was able to jog for 20 minutes.  I was exhausted, but amazed!

If you'd like to know more about it, visit this website.  I'm not paid by them or anything, just amazed that I could actually be at a point of jogging for 20 min!  Pretty cool.
