Stone Soup for Five: December Odds and Ends

December Odds and Ends

Here are a few things I enjoyed this past month:

First off, my editor and friend Kristen He, came out with a new interactive notebook for kids over the book of Daniel!  As with all her products, I'm amazed at the level of detail she goes into without losing the kids in terms and ideas too big for them.  (As usual, I got to do the doodles!)  Be sure to check out all she has in her store!

One of our family friends has released a YouVersion devotional app you should check out.  It is a nine day devotional plan you can access through the app or online on 9 Keys to Walking in Christ.  Thousands of people have completed it and if you use YouVersion, it's worth looking up!

I'm continuing to care for my home with help from the FLYlady.  I've done her zone cleaning plan for years, and even on the weeks (or months) that I don't do it, it is always what I come back to.  I've recently downloaded the FLYlady app for iPhones and have really enjoyed using it.  But even if you don't have the app, the system works.  Since it's the start of a new year, it's a great time to start working through the FLYlady babysteps!

As I said in my post about my 2019 Spiritual goals, I am working through a workbook by Paul Washer called Knowing the Living God.  It's a great workbook and I work on it on Tuesdays and Thursdays as part of my morning routine.  If you want a good solid foundation on the basics of God and His attributes, I highly recommend it!

And speaking of Paul Washer, my youngest son and I just finished going through his three part sermon on Biblical Manhood and it was powerful.  We meet most mornings before school and for a month or so spent about 15 minutes listing to these messages in parts.  They are so good and so needed for today's young men.  If you have daughters, it is definitely worth a listen for them too, to know what they should be looking for in a future husband.  Great, great stuff.

Also, if you're thinking about ministries to give to this year, consider his missions society, HeartCry.

I hope you all had a great December and are looking forward to the new year!  I'll finish up my blog posts about my goals for the year, and how I'll keep you updated next!

God Bless,
