Every once in a while I like to take us back to school.  So, class, this is your assignment. Please read thoroughly and respond below in the comments section.

God gave us ONE book about Him, in FOUR different formats:

1.  The Bible is His Book, the written Word of truth.

"Your Word is truth."  John 17:17

"All Scripture is inspired by God an profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness..."  2 Timothy 3:16

2.  Creation is His Book, the picture version.

"For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse." -Romans 1:20

"But now ask the beasts, and let them teach you; and the birds of the heavens, and let them tell you.  Or speak to the earth, and let it teach you; and let the fish of the sea declare to you.  Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this, in whose hand is the life and every living thing, and the breath of all mankind?" -Job 11:7-10

3.  Your mouth is His Book, the audible version.

"How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?" -Romans 10:14

"He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.'" -Mark 16:15

4.  Your life is His Book, the movie version.

"Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation." -1 Peter 2:12

"In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."  Matthew 5:16

  5. Mostly I spend my time beholding God's creation and pondering how great is El-Shaddai. I need to spend more time in His written word, meditating and praying.

  6. This delighted me this morning! I have shared the concept with my small 'accountability' group and have asked them to make this a summer challenge. To work on something in one of the 'formats' over the summer and report back at our first fall meeting.

I spend most of my time in the written version.
I need to spend more time in the audible version.
I need to improve my knowledge and experiences in the life and creation versions.
