This week's reads

Here's what we'll be reading this week and will carry us through the rest of February and further.

For our morning read-aloud before homeschool starts, we're reading Day of War by Cliff Graham.  The boys LOVE it so far.  It's about David and his mighty men.

For the evening that the older two boys are gone to their AWANA group, my youngest and I curl up on my bed and are reading through one of my favorites, A Wrinkle in Time.

For my sewing/work time, I just finished listening to My Life in France by Julia Child (loved it!) and am starting Ted Dekker's Kiss on CD.

In the van as we drive around town, the boys and I are finishing up Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.  We are huge fans of all of these books, even though I realize they are not popular with a lot of people.  

As I was browsing the new books in the library, I also found one that caught my eye and picked it up tonight.  The Thinking Life.  Though I don't think it's from a Christian perspective, it still looks like it will really speak to an issue I've been thinking a lot about for years now--the subtitle is: How to Thrive in the Age of Distraction.  Amen.

I also have Deadline  by Randy Alcorn, on my nightstand to read for a few minutes before I crash each night.  These nighttime books I have to buy to keep, or get from paperback swap (where this one came from) because they can take me months and months to finish, depending on my exhaustion level each night.

During the mornings I'm working on my Legacy Bible Journal (still LOVE it!) and the latest Bible study we're going through by Beth Moore over the Fruit of the Spirit.  I'm also reading a short chapter each day from The Power of a Praying Wife.  So good.

I love books and I really like having a book to dive into no matter what kind of reading mood I'm in at the time.
