Stone Soup for Five: Fall Mantle

Fall Mantle

I finally got some time to change around our mantle.  Since we built it in June, it's kinda always looked like this:
Which I loved, but it was time for a chage!  My favorite season is finally here! FALL!!

Now it looks like this:

Some fun close ups:
This "wreath" is actually the same picture frame you saw in the original picture, with some fake leaves hot glued around.  The ribbon hanging it from the big frame was changed out with a strip of burlap.  LOVE!

The little art picture was painted on an wooden picture square thing I got at the Goodwill Outlet.  The Indian corn came from a friend YEARS ago, the green candlesticks were a GWO find that I spray painted (and stood one on a upside down glass jar to add some height).  The books were also GWO, and the white pumpkins were spray painted from the dollar store.

The candlesticks are the same from before (from a garage sale) and the twigs in the jar came from my backyard curly willow.  I just hot glued some fake leaves on it to look like they were falling.

And the best part?  The whole mantle redo was FAH-REE!!!
Now I'm ready for some hot tea, a good book, and a warm blankie in the living room.

Buuuuut, must get back to my kitchen redo!

I am linking up to some Fantle Parties!

  11. I was so inspired by your leaf wreath I ignored everything else I should have been doing and made it immediately! Last fall I had collected some pretty leaves from my neighborhood and modge-podged (is that a verb now?) them. I hadn't figured out what to do with them until I saw this. My wreath is now hanging above my mantle too, thanks for the inspiration!
